Although Donald Trump said that he would help ZTE to get over the decision by the FTC to ban the company from buying components from US suppliers (ZTE is on Again, But For How Long?), the US Senate has overturned the decision in a vote that saw a very strong majority (85 to 10) with both Republicans and Democrats taking a dim view on the President’s deal.
As we went to press, ZTE had just announced that it would have a new board as part of the proposed deal with Trump. At the time, it was not clear if the situation would be resolved or whether, if not, the company might have to close.
