Twitter leaker, Ice Universe, has revealed that LG may incorporate an Ultra HD LCD screen in its next flagship smartphone, which he referred to as the “LG G8”.
It isn’t clear whether Ice Universe is taking an educated guess based on LG’s previous naming conventions or if someone has informed him that the device will be called that, but the presence of a UHD display could indicate that LG plans to factor in VR support to its next smartphone.

Analyst Comment
I think that the only UltraHD display on a smartphone was used by Sony, so LG joining in would be good as even Sony didn’t seem to be promoting the feature strongly. Use in VR glasses is a good reason for the higher resolution. (BR)
