It is being widely reported that Google will announced its first Pixel-branded smartwatch at its annual product launch event later this year, alongside its new smartphones, Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. The information originates from Venturbeat mobile reporter Evan Blass, whose leaks have been described by Wareable as “reliable”.
The publication also highlighted the fact that Qualcomm previously said it will be launching its new Snapdragon chip alongside “a new lead smartwatch” later this year.
Google recently rebranded Android Wear as Wear OS, which will launch alongside Android P and bring a raft of new features. These include heightened capabilities for Google Assistant on supported devices, such as smart suggestions, more detailed responses to user queries and audio cues, providing devices have built-in audio hardware or are connected to a headset.
