Istanbul’s Akmerkez shopping mall recently turned to digital signage partner Sistem9 and systems integrator Astel LED for a display solution that would meet the requirements of its global advertising partners. The complex boasts more than 200 retailers over four floors, with a total area of 35,000m².
Sistem9 chose Absen’s XD6 LED display panels and, in collaboration with Astel, developed a screen measuring 6.4 metres wide by 13.44 metres high, or 86.02m², with a thickness of 106mm. The display is situated by the ornamental pool area at the centre of the mall, boasting a 270° viewing angle and up to 6,000cd/m² brightness.
Fans were installed to combat the effects of the mall’s ventilation system and the general humidity. The screen was installed on an tricky surface using a specially-constructed bracket system designed by Astel.
