MagnaChip has a new ‘third generation’ 40 nm OLED display driver integrated circuit (DDIC) that is already said to have won a design from a ‘leading smartphone player’. The chip supports 21:9 displays and bezel-less displays as well as those with notches. It supports resolutions up to FHD++. Features include lower power consumption.
Analyst Comment
The company said that it is already on its way to producing driver chips based on 28nm process technology. (BR)
