HTC has reported revenues of $94.8 million for last month, a month-on-month growth of 6.1% but a year-on-year decline of 46.7%. This means that the company ended the first quarter of 2018 with revenues of $300.4 million, a decline of 44.1% quarter-on-quarter, 39.5% year-on-year and HTC’s lowest quarterly revenue in 16 years.
However, the company iexpects to see a reversal of fortune in the coming months, with the launch of its new flagship smartphone, believed to be called U12 Plus, to be seen as more of a rival to Samsung’s Galaxy S9 Plus rather than the standard model. No official details have yet been revealed about the handset but it is believed it will feature a 6″ LCD display with a WQHD+ resolution and an 18.9 aspect ratio, plus dual-camera set-ups on both the front (12 and 16-megapixel) and back (8-megapixel) of the device.
Other rumoured hardware specs include a Snapdragon 845 processor and 6GB of RAM. It’s also believed that the device will run Android Oreo and feature HTC’s proprietary facial recognition technology, Face Sense.
