A New Jersey federal judge has accepted most of the claims in a proposed class action accusing Samsung Electronics America of misrepresenting the battery life of its Galaxy Gear S Smartwatch, ruling that the dissatisfied purchaser gave enough details to clearly describe his experience. The device launched back in 2014, when the buyer bought it. Although some of the claims were rejected, Samsung still faces claims for fraud, negligent misrepresentation, and for breach of express and implied warranties.
The plaintiff, who claims that the battery lasted only a few hours, alleges that Samsung has misled its customers by stating that the battery would last up to two days on a single charge.
