Epson Adds L/P 3LCD Installation Projectors

Epson is now shipping its seven new Pro L-Series laser 3LCD large venue projectors and the ELPLX02 ultra short-throw lens. The units are intended for large venues including rental and staging events, lecture halls, and digital signage installations.

There are six WUXGA (1920 x 1200) projectors with ‘4K Enhancement’ pixel shifting to double resolution and ranging from 12,000 to 15,000 lumens of color and white brightness and there is one SXGA+ resolution projector with 15,000 lumens. The projectors feature BT.709 color space and 360-degree installation. In addition, the three 15,000 lumen laser projectors can operate from a standard 120V power outlet (in the US) and feature the same compact cabinet as the rest of the line which Epson claims is a breakthrough feature at this high level of brightness.

Contrast ratio is dynamic and brightness uniformity is 90% (typical). Lens shift is ±55% vertically and ±19% horizontally.

The new ultra short-throw ELPLX02 lens projects from 100-inches up to 1000-inches and is now available alongside Epson’s extensive selection of lenses. With a 0.35 throw ratio, negative offset and impressive lens shift range, this lens is intended to offer installation and positioning flexibility.

Epson said it is the first manufacturer to combine inorganic 3LCD panels with an inorganic phosphor wheel.

The units have DVI-D, HDMI, HDBaseT and VGA inpouts as well as 5 BNC to support a range of video inputs. There is a Pixelworks video chip with 3D Y/C separation, noise reduction and motion compensated Interlace-Progressive conversion (2 – 2, 3 – 2 film detection).
