EUVR has officially backed the Gaze-at-Ratio (GAR) ad-tracking system for use within virtual and augmented reality content in Europe.
GAR, which was introduced last month, measures and provides analytical data based on the length of time users spend looking at adverts. The algorithm used by GAR measures the distance, depth and duration of the user’s gaze in relation to the product being advertised.
Members of EUVR will receive official guidelines on the implementation of GAR ad-tracking in VR/AR content early next year. The technology will be demonstrated at the ninth annual Stereopsia forum in Brussels, which takes place December 11th – 13th.
