This is nowhere near the first LED as TV product. Many, many years ago, Philips had an LED display business that was making SD TV sets of more than 100″ and a few years ago, we met with a company at IFA and Gitex that was selling 200″ and 300″ TVs based on LED, although they weren’t UltraHD. I have to say that if I was spending over half a million dollars on a TV, I would at least expect the full vertical resolution of UltraHD! I would also worry about the ‘dead pixel’ specification of 1% (0% at supply). That makes around 70,000 by my reckoning! I wouldn’t doubt that their is a market after some of the discussions I have had at Infocomm where ‘people with more money than sense’ were spoken of as a good market. (BR)
