Teledyne LeCroy, the worldwide leader in protocol test solutions, today announced the DisplayPort 1.4 Video Generator / Protocol Analyzer module for the quantumdata 980B Advanced Test Platform. The module provides developers with an invaluable set of tools for testing DP 1.4 products and represents the industry’s first solution for next gen DisplayPort products operating at link rates up to 8.1 Gbps/lane (HBR3).
Here is a partial list of the video generator features offered on the module’s HBR3-capable transmitter port for testing next gen DisplayPort monitors:
• Choose from a large library of test patterns and format timings up to 8.1 Gbps
• Configure link training attributes and monitor link training transactions
• View the decoded DPCD registers and EDID data blocks
• Emulate an MST source for testing downstream MST nodes
• Run HDCP 2.2 compliance tests on displays and monitor authentication
• More…
And for the protocol analyzer receiver port for testing HBR3-capable sources:
• Capture an incoming 8.1 Gbps stream for deep analysis of the main link protocols
• Monitor incoming video, timing, main stream attributes and secondary data in real time
• Emulate a variety of link training capabilities with a configurable DPCD
• Edit and emulate EDIDs for testing a source’s response
• Emulate an MST downstream node for testing upstream MST sources
• Run HDCP 2.2 compliance tests on sources and monitor authentication
• More…
The 980 series auxiliary channel analyzer (ACA) is fully supported on the new DisplayPort 1.4 module for monitoring the Aux Channel on HBR3-capable sources and displays. This includes monitoring link training, DPCD status and control, MST negotiations, HDCP authentication and EDID exchanges over the DisplayPort Aux Channel. The ACA function will allow monitoring of the Aux Channel between a DisplayPort source and display to diagnose interoperability problems between devices.
A variety of future enhancements to the 980 DisplayPort 1.4 solution are planned including support for Digital Stream Compression (DSC) and Forward Error Correction (FEC).
With the addition of the DisplayPort 1.4 Video Generator / Protocol Analyzer module along with the existing 980 HDMI 2.0 and 12G-SDI Video Generator / Protocol Analyzer modules, the 980 Advanced Test System provides a comprehensive solution for testing modern high-end HDTVs, monitors, displays and sources.
Availability
Orders for the new 980 DisplayPort 1.4 Video Generator / Protocol Analyzer module will be accepted at the end of April with shipments expected to begin at the end of May. Please consult your Teledyne LeCroy account representative or distributor for details.
