As consumer demand for higher quality video grows for live sports and movies, 4K UHD resolution becomes more important, Intel believes. Using 7th generation Intel core processors and Intel software guard extensions (SGX) will enable the secure delivery and playback of live and on-demand 4K UHD sports and movie content on computers, the company said.
The integration of Intel SGX into the NeuLion digital platform will enable customers to securely stream their 4K UHD content. Intel SGX is a set of CPU instructions for computers that supports many security use cases including authentication, trusted transactions and media security. In addition to delivering content to the end user, the NeuLion digital platform enables digital video management, distribution and monetisation for customers who own premium content.
