NEC Display Solutions Europe said that it is able to offer a number of customisation options for its P and V series displays by adding Mirona semi-transparent mirror glass from Schott (P Series) for retail and fitting room applications. Another option is 4mm protective Conturan glass to secure operation in public spaces. Coloured overframes are available in a range of colours from the RAL colour range.
Other features include ShadowSense touch from Baanto on its P series now, and on the V series from June, there will be an infrared option.

Analyst Comment
We had an interesting conversation with HP at MWC about its developments of mirror glass, which have centred around reducing the impact of the glass on the colour of the reflection. Since then, I have seen a couple of monitors with mirrors and become much more aware of colour distortion, which can be a critical issue in fashion retail or make-up services. The mirror also reduces the light level, which makes the P series more attractive as it has a higher brightness. Mirona glass has transmittance from 20% to 63% and reflectance from 34% to 55% depending on the version, but Schott does not give figures for the effect on colour. (BR)
