ViewSonic in thh US has announced the VP27771, a 27″ 2560 x 1440 monitor aimed at colour-critical applications. The IPS panel is claimed to have to have a Delta E of less than 2 and can be used in sRGB, EBU (phosphor), SMPTE-C, Rec 709 (all similar gamuts) and Dicom-SIM. The monitor has a 14 bit 3D LUT and six axis adjustment of colour. The PBP mode supports different colour settings for different parts of the image. Contrast is 1,000:1 and response time of 5ms.
Other features include an integrated KVM and a USB 3.1 Type C input which can support the DisplayPort Alt Mode. There are also HDMI, MHL and mini-DisplayPort connections. The DisplayPort input can be daisy-chained. Hardware calibration is also available with the optional ViewSonic CS-Xri1 Colorbration Kit, which costs $280.
The monitor is available immediately and costs $734.
