AU Optronics Corp. (AUO) saw Q3 net profits of NT$4.62 billion ($145.7 million), up 37% from NT$3.38 billion ($106.6 million) in the same period last year, on turnover which slipped 4% to NT$86.02 billion ($2.7 billion) from NT$89.3 billion ($2.8 billion). For the nine months there were losses of NT$1.77 billion ($55.9 million), compared with profits of NT$13.08 billion ($412.8 million), on revenue of NT$237.24 billion ($7.5 billion), down from NT$276.9 billion ($8.7 billion). The company saw a QoQ improvement of 3% in large panel shipments to 29.27 million units, although small and medium panel shipments were down 11%.
