Medical Channel Consolidates Networks

The Australian waiting room digital signage network, Medical Channel, has raised £25 million to buy its rival, Community Network. Medical Channel was founded in 2012 and at the start of 2016 was operating on 700 screens. The acquisition of Medical Media in February added a further 800 screens, and brought the total to 1,550 screens in 1,430 practices, with around 2.6 million viewers. The new addition will increase the number of screens to 3,200 and the number of viewers to 6.25 million, with an average dwell time of 30 minutes.

The company is now looking to expand its network into hospitals, of which there are 6,000 nationwide.
