Insight Media is organising a workshop on streaming media will be held on Fri., Oct. 28 at the Loews Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles, following the SMPTE 2016 Annual Technical Conference & Exhibition (SMPTE 2016). The workshop is designed to provide an update on standardization efforts and commercialization needs related to the light field capture-to-display ecosystem, and to explore the needs for the formation of a consortium to help facilitate standardization of field-of-light streaming media.
To date, any group working with light field images, data, and display has had to develop proprietary formats, processing, and transmission protocols. The aim of this workshop is to explore how standards may assist with development and commercialization efforts.
