Absen, a world leading manufacturer of LED solutions for the corporate, sports, retail, advertising and rental industries, will be presenting a new revolutionary indoor rental LED display solution on the 20th and 21st of September 2016 in their European headquarters (Rüsselsheim, Germany).
In an unusual move for the company, two dedicated open days will be held to unveil the M2.9, a 2.97mm pitch LED display panel featuring a revolutionary patented locking system, which will undoubtedly set new standards in the rental staging world.
“Absen does not usually organise individual product launches, because our range is so comprehensive and always evolving” commented Absen Europe’s managing director Ruben Rengel. “However, from sales to marketing, and from prospects to existing clients, every single person we have shown the product to was convinced that this fantastic new product will take the rental staging world by storm.”
The immediate excitement around the M2.9 stems in particular from a new revolutionary locking and releasing system which follows a “One Action” principle. Weighing only 7.6kg, this new flagship black SMD LED panel from Absen boasts a contrast of 7,500:1 in a 168×168 pixel cabinet (500 x 500 x 96 mm).
During the whole development process, the Absen engineers have kept rental and staging professionals in mind, aiming to make their life much easier. Commenting on the main feature, European product director Frank Zhang explains: “Although the M2.9 offers a number of extremely useful and unique features, its best asset has to be our patented locking system.”
“Press a button and it will release the panel, pull and it will lock it”. With only three seconds to lock/release, the M2.9 is without doubt one of the fastest and easiest locking system in the market. Thanks to an equally clever side locking system, the panels can be stacked to create a ±5° concave or convex screen surface without the need for any additional tools, taking modularity to another level.
Each cabinet is made up of four magnetic modules, and can be front or rear serviced. In addition, the power box situated on the back of M2.9 can be easily released by pressing a simple button. Both the modules and the power box have been engineered with a heat dissipation system to withstand the harshest staging requirements.
“One of the main reasons for LED malfunctions is wrong handling, and the Absen engineers also had this in mind when designing the M2.9” notes Zhang. “Each cabinet features positioning pins which slightly angles the panel when standing to protect the LED lights and to prevent damage”. The same poles help technicians to properly stack the LED panels without risk of damaging LED lights on the sides.
True to its reputation, Absen continues to provide excellent display performance, with a camera friendly high refresh rate, making the M2.9 a perfect fit for broadcast environments and recorded events. Real-time monitoring is also available for each module via PC, tablet or smartphone, allowing operators to see all critical information (module ID, worktime, colour coordinates, voltage, temperature, etc.). Finally, the M2.9 benefits from Absen’s third generation of A3C dot-to-dot calibration technology, which made Absen products so popular with rental stagers.
Taking place on the 20th and 21st of September, the open days is free to attend and open to industry professionals.
