Epson and Panasonic Dominate May Projector Sales Across Multiple Categories

The latest projector sales data from PMA Research shows Epson maintaining its market leadership position across professional categories, while established brands continue to hold strong positions in the evolving projector marketplace during May 2025.

Installation Projectors Lead Professional Market

In the installation projector segment featuring interchangeable lenses, Epson captured three of the top five positions. The company’s EB-PU1008, EB-PU1007, and EB-PU2010 models demonstrated strong sell-through performance among IT, Pro AV, and CEDIA dealers.

Panasonic secured the remaining two spots in this category with its PT-MZ682 and PT-MZ770 models, indicating continued demand for the company’s professional installation solutions.

High-Lumen Business Projectors Show Epson Strength

The business laser projector segment for normal and semi-throw models with 5,000+ lumens again showed Epson’s market dominance. Three Epson models—the PowerLite L690SU, PowerLite L695SU, and PowerLite L530U—captured top-five positions based on data from Pro AV dealers and systems integrators participating in PMA’s Pro AV Projector Tracking Service.

Sony’s VPL-PHZ61 and Panasonic’s PT-VMZ51 rounded out the high-lumen business category, demonstrating the competitive nature of the professional projector market.

Consumer Segment Sees Brand Diversity

The pico and personal projector category showed greater brand diversity compared to professional segments. Sony’s Freestyle Gen 2 led this consumer-focused category, followed by LG’s HU710PB CineBeam Q projector.

TCL, HP, and RCA filled the remaining positions with the A1 Smart Projector, CC200, and RPJ060 models respectively, indicating broader manufacturer participation in the portable and personal projector space.
