TCL Unveils Two New VR Displays

TCL CSOT presented two new VR displays at MWC 2025 in Barcelona. The first, a 2.56-inch model rated at 1,500 pixels per inch, uses COA technology and a high-efficiency MiniLED backlight to improve luminous efficiency by about 40 percent over conventional systems. This design is intended to reduce power consumption and color shift for longer, more comfortable VR sessions.

The second display, already in mass production, reaches 1,512 pixels per inch and offers a 3840×3744 resolution per eye, a brightness of 200 nits, 96 percent DCI-P3 color coverage, and a 120-degree field of view. Varjo has integrated it into its XR-4 headset for enterprise use cases that demand high clarity and depth.
