Apple’s latest iPhone model is seeing a modest rise in demand, with panel procurement for the iPhone 16 series tracking 1% higher than last year’s iPhone 15 through the end of October. According to new data from DSCC, the iPhone 16 lineup, released September 20, continues to outpace its predecessor, buoyed by a strong focus on the Pro models.
Data reveals that panel orders for the iPhone 16 series, which began in July 2024, showed an 8% increase over the iPhone 15 series through September. This uptick is largely driven by demand for the higher-end iPhone 16 Pro models, which accounted for 66% of the series’ cumulative share by September—a notable jump from the 60% share held by the iPhone 15 Pro models in the same period last year.
As Apple gears up for its fiscal Q4 earnings report on October 31, this trend highlights the company’s focus on premium models while remaining committed to its more affordable options. Consistent with previous years, panel procurement for entry-level iPhones like the iPhone 13, iPhone 14, and iPhone 15 has increased between January and October, as Apple aims to capture growth in emerging markets.
