Phantom Out of Stealth Mode With New Journey Lens Smart Glasses

Phantom Technology has introduced its first product, the Journey Lens smart glasses, emerging from stealth with a focus on reducing digital distractions and improving focus. Priced at $195, the glasses, available for pre-order and launching in Q1 2025, offer both prescription and shade options. They integrate AI technology, including biometric sensors, to measure focus and suggest productivity improvements while also providing real-time assistance through conversational AI and a discreet interface for managing mobile alerts via Bluetooth.

The Journey Lens smart glasses help users manage their ability to focus on specific tasks, avoid digital distractions, and get assistance with daily life through AI or mobile apps. Even without power, the glasses operate as standard prescription or sunglasses. These smart glasses use a novel biometric sensor technology and software algorithms to measure focus, providing guidance and suggestions to improve productivity, relaxation, or achieve a desired state-of-mind. Built into the nose piece of a stylish panto frame, sensors read eye movements, allowing Phantom-designed algorithms to help users achieve their desired outcomes. The glasses sync data bi-directionally between the user’s Android or iOS device, enabling private viewing of mobile alerts and discreet responses without needing to check the device directly.

Journey Lens offers features such as intelligent clarity, focus guidance for building healthier habits, real-time assistance for daily tasks, and a mindfulness journal. Additionally, the glasses are equipped with a better-than-HD 2K camera discreetly built into the frame, privacy-enhanced AI, and a range of subscription plans from $7 to $18 per month.

The display is a monocle and located in the upper right corner of the right lens, a little reminiscent of Google Glass. The display is not on all the time, and the user turns it on by tapping the side temple. Likewise, the camera can be turned on or off. Generally, the camera is on all the time as part of the AI analysis and not for picture taking. The glasses are very lightweight, offloading a lot of the processing, storage, and communications to the smartphone.

Founded in 2019, Phantom Technology is based in Cambridge, UK. With initial funding of $900,000 from SFC Capital, angels, and government grants, Phantom Technology is now entering its Seed-level funding round, preparing to bring Journey Lens to market.
