The CH100 is a portable 1DLP LED projector, designed for business presentations – emphasising reliability and colour fidelity.
sRGB replication is absolutely accurate, says BenQ – good enough that the projector features sRGB certification. Five presentation modes are built in: graphic, motion graphics, vivid, lectures and cinema. 10-bit colour can be displayed.
Due to the Helmholtz-Kohlrausch effect (saturated colours make light seem brighter), BenQ says that the projector’s 1,000 ANSI lumen brightness is actually perceived to be as much as twice as bright, for some content.
As a portable model, the CH100 uses a slim chassis (325 x 213 x 63mm, 2.5kg) and is simple to set up. The solid-state LED light source is instant-on, and the projector automatically adjusts its aspect ratio and vertical keystone +/-20º). A source is auto-selected. BenQ’s QCast wireless streaming dongle can also be used with the product.
Display resolution is 1920 x 1080. The CH100 has a 1.1:1 throw ratio and can 60″ – 120″ image (81″ at 2m). Zoom is fixed. HDMI (x3, one supporting MHL), VGA, USB-A, USB-B and RS232 ports are featured, as well as two IR receivers and a 5W speaker.
Another DLP projector announced recently is the MH530, which is a bright lamp-based (196W) model for small-medium spaces, such as classrooms.
To save power and extend lamp life, the MH530 dynamically adjusts the lamp power and brightness. Lamp life can be extended by as much as 50% in this way, up to 10,000 hours. No source detected and eco blank modes are also supported.
Like the LED model, the MH530 has 1920 x 1080 resolution. Contrast ratio is 1,000:1, and brightness is higher at 3,200 lumens. It can display 10-bit colour and has a throw ratio of 1.47-1.62:1 (70″ – 300″ image). +/-40° vertical keystone correction is supported. A 1.1x manual zoom is built in.
HDMI, VGA (x2), composite, S-Video, mini-USB-B and RS232 inputs are featured, as well as an IR receiver; 2W speaker; and VGA output. The projector measures 283 x 222 x 95mm and weighs 2kg. It is available now, for €575 ex VAT.
