DirecTV in the US has launched its first dedicated UltraHD TV channel, which will be used to show the Master’s gold tournament (DirecTV Brings UltraHD Straight From Amen Corner). Content will be shot by CBS, using Sony cameras. AT&T’s (owner of DirecTV) Phil Goswitz has said that HDR, wide colour gamut and 60fps frame rates are all set to be added to its UltraHD programming, as soon as the content is available. DirecTV plans to launch two more UltraHD channels, covering entertainment and pay-per-view films.
