The NPD Group says that 52% of US internet homes had ‘at least one TV’ connected to the internet in Q4’15 – marking an increase of 6 million homes over Q4’14. The types of devices being used for the connection varied, with game consoles being the most popular. The average US internet home owns 2.9 installed devices that could be used to make a TV smart. The result is in-line with the rise in connected device ownership in the US, now standing at 734 million: an increase of 64 million on-year.
