Two new monitor families have been developed by Acer, for professional users such as graphic designers and photographers. The BX0 and CB1 monitors have several resolution options, up to UltraHD, and picture-in- and picture-by-picture modes.
Both new models have Acer’s EyeProtect features; these include a flicker-free backlight that can dimmed to very low levels; an anti-reflective covering; and a blue light filter.
IPS panels are built into both monitor series, providing them with 178° viewing angles. ColorPlus technologies are also used; this is another set of features, revolving around accurate colour. They include six-axis colour adjustment; resolution upscaling; and 100% sRGB colour support.
The CB1 models have up to UltraHD resolution, and a response time of 1ms (grey-to-grey). They can be tilted between -5° and 35°, swivelled 60° left and right and are height adjustable to 150mm.
Acer’s BX0 monitors are panoramic models, with a 21:9 aspect ratio. They also support adaptive sync, to eliminate tearing, and have thin bezels. The stand is the same as the CB1 models, with the same tilt, swivel and height adjustments.
Acer is selling the CB1 monitors now, for €160; the BX0 series will go on sale at the end of November, for €565. Prices are ex VAT.
