Asustek’s sales fell 17%month on month and 14% year on year in July, to NT$34.5 billion ($1.1 billion). Sales for the first seven months of the year were broadly flat at NT$254.8 billion ($7.9 billion).
Despite the decline, Asustek said that July’s result met its expectations but the company was conservative about its third quarter sales results and currently has ‘poor visibility’ for Q4. The company expects its notebook shipments to reach 20 million units this year, having originally forecast shipments of 22.8 million units.
