MMD, the leading technology company and brand license partner for Philips Monitors, announces a new display with 4K Ultra High Definition (UHD) resolution.
The BDM3275UP display – at 32 inches a new size for Philips Monitors with this resolution – responds to growing demand for super-fine resolutions at comparatively modest screen dimensions. Users can look forward to 4K UHD clarity for detail-rich entertainment such as movies and games, as well as for data-intensive office applications.
32 inches of brilliant performance
With 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, 4K UHD resolution packs four times as many pixels per inch of screen as Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) and delivers four times the clarity. This latest Philips 4K UHD (Ultra High Definition) display makes MMD’s line-up of screen sizes at the ultra-high resolution even more complete, which already features 28-inch, and 40-inch models. Like its co-members of the 4K line-up, the BDM3275UP display is configured for a stunning viewing experience. It offers rich 10-bit colour support for natural, gradation-free colour reproduction, Philips Flicker-Free technology to regulate brightness and reduce flicker, as well as an advanced IPS-AHVA panel for extra-wide viewing angles of 178 degrees, so the quality can be enjoyed from nearly any angle, even side on.
Commenting on the new display with UltraClear 4K UHD resolution, Thomas Schade, Vice President EMEA at MMD, says, “The 32-inch UltraClear UHD display gives users such as designers, architects and office professionals even greater midsize display choices for putting super-fine resolution on their desks. With its clarity and brilliance, 4K UHD really makes a difference to the viewing experience, retaining superb precision and detail even when users divide their screen into multiple areas. At 32 inches, the display is large enough to create a great sense of space, but it’s still compact enough to leave plenty of room on the desk.”
Easy to connect and enjoy
With superfast connectivity options including DisplayPort for data transfer speeds of up to 10.8 Gbps, MHL for streaming mobile content (while charging the mobile device at the same time), universal HDMI and USB 3.0, the new display enables users to connect high bandwidth digital sources and enjoy uncompressed video and audio content with zero-latency refresh in dazzling UHD 4K clarity. Built-in stereo speakers provide high quality audio to complement the viewing experience. The display also features MultiView technology, so users can simultaneously view streams from two devices (PC and notebook, for instance) in separate screen partitions. Thanks to the pixel-rich clarity of UltraClear 4K resolution, each partition retains sharpness and brilliance at all times.
Comfort at work
With this superb viewing quality to enjoy, users might find themselves spending more time at their desks. So to reduce the risk of desk fatigue, the display features a Smart ErgoBase that enables it to be tilted, swivelled and lowered almost to desk level for a comfortable viewing angle. The monitor base also manages cables neatly, reducing cable clutter on the desktop.
The new Philips 32-inch display with 4K resolution will be available in July 2015. The RRP is £ 799.
