According to Reuters, LG has grown tired of waiting for its OLED TVs to be adopted, and will work with Chinese and Japanese companies to make OLED TVs more mainstream.
The news is not a huge surprise, as LG Display already works with Skyworth, Changhong, Haier, Konka and KTC, among others. It has been in talks to supply OLED panels to Sony and Panasonic since 2013.

Interestingly, Reuters specifically named LG Electronics as the company that would work with Chinese and Japanese firms, rather than LG Display. It’s feasible that this is because of the minimum quantity requirements that LG Display is specifying for customers (Primeview Introduces Industrial OLED). (TA)
