HTC Forecasts Profit Fall

HTC has forecast a fall in both turnover and profit this quarter because of seasonal weakness. Turnover in the company’s fiscal fourth quarter is expected to drop between 6% – 13.3% to NT$41.5 – 45 billion ($1.3-1.4 billion), though HTC said it remained optimistic that its full-year shipments will significantly outpace the previous year’s. HTC has seen strong demand in the US, UK, India and the Middle East, though third quarter revenue from China was flat.
