Come February, Panasonic will have launched a new laser/LED DLP projector. As a professional model, the PT-RZ475 will have a short throw ratio (0.8:1) and the ability to operate 24/7 for up to three years, or, with breaks, for up to 10 years.
Primarily designed for rear projection in mind, the RZ475 is supplied with a multi-screen support system, 3D projection and portrait capabilities. Panasonic’s own take on HDBaseT technology (Digital Link) is built in to the projector. Digital Link enables the transfer of digital signals up to 100m using a single cable. A sensor constantly measures the light source’s intensity and adjusts white balance accordingly.
The PT-RZ475 has 1920 x 1080 resolution and a 20,000:1 contrast ratio. Brightness is up to 3,000 lumens and a 40″ – 200″ image can be thrown. Focus is powered and the unit features +/-40 deg vertical keystone correction. HDMI, DVI, VGA, composite and RJ45 ports are featured.
Measurements are 455 x 409 x 137mm; the projector weighs 11.5kg. A price has not been announced yet.
