Stephan Peters, General Manager of the DACH region at NEC Display Solutions Europe, has spoken to Invidis about the company’s plans for the coming year.
Signage, in both small and large sizes, will be a key focus. Products for use in 12-, 16- and 24-hour periods are already available. Large-format UltraHD displays are expected to be popular, with 70″, 80″ and 90″ models to be introduced early in the year. Peters also mentioned a high-brightness 47″ model that will be released in the coming months.
In the small signage area, NEC will introduce solutions for conference rooms and similar applications, such as a 10″ model. As well as LCD screens, LED displays with a very low pixel pitch will be introduced – current prototypes reach less than 1mm.
Projection also plays a significant role in NEC’s portfolio, which will be developed with high-resolution devices (see our ISE coverage for more details). Finally, Peters mentioned vertical markets and NEC’s channel partners (both important) as well as touch, which is seeing increasing use in the company’s products.
