According to UK regulator Ofcom, 61% of adults in the country take a pay-TV service, an increase from 58% in 2013. DTT coverage is ‘almost universal’ (98.5%), although there was an increase in non-ownership of digital TV (from 2% to 4%), which was most notable amongst 16-24 year-olds. 83% of households have internet access and ownership of connected devices is almost the same at 82%. Smartphone growth has increased to 63%, but is slowing. Ofcom said that recent growth has been among 45-64 year olds.
