LG in the UK has revealed pricing for the 48″ LG Evo C2 set (this year’s model) which will cost more than last year’s C1 (at $1,575 compared to $1,465 – plus tax).
The set will be available in early March.
What We Think
The cost increase is to support the Evo heat sink technology, we believe. Last year it was only available on the G1 sets, with the C1 using regular WOLED. We’ve been unsure whether LGD will be supplying panels with its Ex technology, but without Evo. We’ve reached out to the firm and will come back if we can get clarification.
The move to increase the price confirms that LG believes that the desire for smaller sets is not just or even mostly about price, but about design and fitting in the home well. (BR)
