LG Display Co. has reported its fourth quarter and full year results, posting a net profit in Q4 of KRW389 billion ($353.8 million) a year on year increase of 448% from KRW71 billion ($64.6 million) in Q4 2013. Turnover in the quarter increased by 18% YoY to KRW8.3 trillion ($7.5 billion). For the year, LGD posted a 119% increase in net profit to KRW917 billion ($834 million), though turnover decreased slightly to KRW26.4 trillion ($24 billion). The company said that it expanded its portion of high value-added panels such as those for large-sized, high resolution TVs and mobile devices, which improved profitability significantly. LCD panels for TVs accounted for 36% of revenue in the fourth quarter of 2014, mobile device panels for 23%, tablet PCs 19%, monitors 14%, and notebook PCs 8%.
