Mitsubishi had its own booth and was showing a range of different modules for industrial and automotive applications. The first module we looked at was a new 7″ module that has 800 x 480 resolution, 1,500 cd/m² of brightness and has a special hardware design that allows survival after a 6.8G shock. The display is also rated to operate from -40° C to +85° C making it particularly suitable for rugged automotive applications in difficult hot or cold environments. Staff told us that no external heater is required. There will later be 8.4″ and 10.4″ variations.
Next we looked at a new 15″ 1400 x 1050 IPS LCD that uses LED backlights for up to 100,000 hours of life and compatible with previous 1024 x 768 resolution displays. There are two variations with 500 cd/m² and 1,000 cd/m².
Finally we looked at the 19″ 1280 x 1024 touch monitor with 1,200 cd/m² of brightness and 800:1 contrast making it ideal for applications where there is high ambient light.
