LDM Product Roundup Vol 21 Issue 44

Germany’s Evoluce GmbH is now offering its large-format LCD monitors with optical touch technology. The displays are available in 42″, 46″ and 55″ sizes.

Getac has refreshed its S400 semi-rugged laptop with Core i3 and i5 Haswell processors. The 14″ laptop features an optional multitouch display, can operate in temperatures between -21 deg and 60 deg and is MIL-STD-810G and IP5X certified. The new variant is available now, starting at €1,185.

The iMotion G6 (fully-outdoor) and iMotion Flow (semi-outdoor) LFD LCD lines from Slovenia’s Infinitus have been expanded with 75″ displays. They have 2,500 cd/m² of brightness, a 5,000:1 contrast ratio and 1920 x 1080 resolution. Four units are available in the G6 line: portrait/landscape orientation and single-/double-sided totems. The Flow series has options of a free-standing portrait single-sided totem or wall-mounted portrait/landscape models. Price is on application.

The Aquos UD27 TV series from Sharp (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 26) is now available in the USA. The 60″ LC-60UD27U and 70″ LC-70UD27U will cost $3,200 and $4,400, respectively (although Amazon has listed them for $2,300 and $3,000). Both TVs are THX 4k Certified, with UltraHD resolution, HEVC decoding and four HDMI ports. They use Sharp’s own dimming feature, called ‘AquoDimming’; rather than local dimming (the TVs use edge-lit backlights), this is a form of image processing that is said to enhance contrast.
