ZTE reported a 94% increase in net profit for 2014, at CNY2.6 billion ($420 million), thanks mostly to growing sales of smartphones in its overseas markets. Turnover for the year was 8% higher at CNY81.2 billion ($12.9 billion).
The company aims to double smartphone sales to 20 million units in the US market this year and has also set its sights on overtaking LG to become the third largest smartphone vendor in the US within two to three years.
