China’s second-largest smartphone vendor, Xiaomi, aims to ship 10 million smartphone units worldwide each month during the fourth quarter of 2017.
CEO Lei Jun revealed that Xiaomi shipped 10 million smartphones in September, a first for the company the firm told local news sources. Now it will focus its efforts to maintain this momentum throughout the remainder of the year.
Lei admitted that the company faces production capacity challenges to hit its targets, as demand far outweighs supply at this time. Xiaomi’s second-quarter results showed 23.16 million units shipped and its third-quarter breakdown is expected to show even higher numbers.
Xiaomi is also the second-largest smartphone vendor in India, with a 14% market share, second only to Samsung.
