It is reported in Korea, that Xiaomi has secured an OLED supply deal with LG Display. Curved flexible OLEDs are needed for Xiaomi’s next-gen flagship phone, the Xiamoi’s Mi Note 2.
It is believed that LG Display already supplies limited volumes of flexible OLEDs for Xiaomi’s Mi Note 2, but once LG’s E5 fab starts producing panels later this year, the company’s capacity will be increased dramatically. It is then that LG will be able to supply volume production to Xiaomi, as well as, potentially, to other Chinese handset makers.
