Xiaomi Mi 8 Sells Out in Under Two Minutes

Xiaomi’s new flagship smartphone, the Mi 8, went on sale in China yesterday — and sold out in a little over a minute-and-a-half. How many units this equates to is as yet unknown but the next flash sale is scheduled for June 12th.

The device features a 6.21″ Super AMOLED display with a 1080 x 2248 resolution and a notch design in an 18.7:9 aspect ratio, with an 83.8% screen-to-body ratio and 402 pixels per inch. It runs Android 8.1 and is powered by a Snapdragon 845 chipset with 6GB RAM. It is available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage options but doesn’t support any additional storage options.

It features a 12+12-megapixel dual rear camera with 2x optical zoom, dual pixel phase detection autofocus and dual-LED flash, face detection and HDR, alongside a 20-megapixel internal camera. It also includes infrared face recognition and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The Xiaomi Mi 8 retails from around $420.
