Xiaomi has launched a new smartphone, the Poco F1, known in India as Pocophone. The device runs Android 8.1 and features a 6.2″ LCD display with a resolution of 1080 × 2246, 403 pixels per inch, an 82.2% screen-to-body ratio and an aspect ratio of 18.7:9.
Under the hood, the Poco F1 packs a Snapdragon 845 chipset, up to 256GB internal storage (expandable by up to a further 256GB with a micro SD card) and up to 8GB RAM.
Its camera set-up features a 12+5MP dual-lens primary camera capable of shooting video in up to 2160p30 and a 20MP internal camera that can record at up to 1080p30. It also features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a fast-charging 4,000 mAh battery.
The Poco F1 will be available to customers in India from August 29th, priced from 20,999 rupees ($300) for the basic 64GB/6GB version. Xiaomi has also announced plans to release the Poco F1 in as many as 50 other countries.
Analyst Comment
Many reports on the Poco F1 suggest that its release will put pressure on competitors to adjust their pricing. On paper, it certainly looks like a lot of bang for one’s buck! (AF)
