According to the JPR Workstation Report Market Quarterly for 4Q16, the worldwide market for workstations grew at 20.1% year on year with total shipments of around 1.23 million units and with revenue growth of 18.6%.
The fourth quarter’s year on year growth not only set a record on units shipped, but the 20.1% growth is at a level not seen since 2010, although the growth in that year was not representative of real conditions, since they were measured against the recession levels of 2009.
Of the units shipped, HP increased its market share by 9% from the previous quarter, with a 38% share of the market. Dell had 35%, Lenovo 14% and Fujitsu 2% of the shipments.
