Acer is apparently committed to bringing Windows 10 to the masses, having announced two low-cost notebooks running the OS.
Both the Acer Aspire Cloudbook 11 (11″) and Cloudbook 14 (14″), as the names suggest, rely heavily on the cloud for storage. They are similar to a Chromebook or Microsoft’s ‘Windows-with-Bing’ laptops.
802.11ac WiFi and 1.6GHz Intel Celeron mobile processors are built in, with 2GB of RAM. The notebooks are supplied with a year-long subscription to Office 365 Personal and 1TB of Onedrive storage, pre-installed. Local storage is 16GB/32GB on the 11″, and 32GB/64GB on the 14″. Screen resolution is 1366 x 768.
The Cloudbook 11 will be launched in North America this month and in EMEA in September, starting at $170. The Cloudbook 14 will be launched in North America in September and EMEA in October, starting at $200.
