Will.i.am Makes Good on Smartwatch Promise

Will.i.am told the world that he was going to release a smartwatch earlier this year (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 15), and here is the finished result. The singer calls his new product, the Puls, a ‘cuff’ rather than a watch (although it does have a display). It runs Android Wear on a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, with 16GB of storage, 1GB of RAM and speakers. Interestingly, it will have its own personal assistant, called Aneeda (powered by Nuance). As promised, the Puls will not need to be paired with a phone, but will have its own data connection. Contact information can be shared with another Puls by tapping them together. Battery life is about five hours.

The battery life looks like a complete killer, to me, if the number is accurate. A five hour life wouldn’t even mean making it through an evening out! (BR)
