Vivo and Qualcomm have signed a memorandum of understanding worth $4 billion. The partnership will merge the two firms’ technical expertise and allow the sharing of patents between them.
The two companies will collaborate on 5G initiatives, as well as research and development in biometrics, including 3D facial identification, palm prints, fingerprints and iris scanning, for smartphone security applications.
