Conservation campaigners in the UK, have welcomed the arrival of March for Giants, which is the world’s first virtual elephant herd. March for Giants is raising funds for Space for Giants, a conservation charity working throughout Africa with the mission to protect half of Africa’s remaining 380,000 elephants by 2020. The virtual herd was previously seen trekking in Hong Kong and New York.
In support of the conservation charity, Space for Giants, around 2,500 brands and individuals are leading the parade of 3D computer-generated elephants to raise funds. Some of brands supporting the charity, include National Express, Maclaren, BCD Travel, and Givergy.
The virtual herd can be seen continuing their trek across Ocean’s Four Dials screen at Westfield Stratford City before heading north to The Media Eyes in Birmingham and then on to Manchester Printworks.Oona, a full-sized elephant puppet, currently starring in the UK tour of Michael Morpugo’s Running Wild at the Hackney Empire, can be seen in the foreground joining the herd.
It is the first-time state-of-the-art digital design technology has been used in a global advertising campaign to create a charitable event from Asia to the Americas to Europe.
March for Giants was a global winner in Ocean Outdoor’s annual creative digital competition.
