VeiwSonic has announced the PG800W and PG705WU DLP projectors in Europe. The PG705WU was first revealed in December in the US (New ViewSonic Networkable Projectors Feature High Brightness). The PG800W has 1280 x 800 resolution and produces 5,000 Ansi lumens with a contrast ratio of 5,000:1. The projector has vertical lens shift and a 1.3X optical zoom for a throw ratio from 1.2 to 1.6. The projector features a hidden’ USB compartment that can be used to fit a USB Wi-fi dongle for wireless operation.
Inputs are dual VGA and HDMI as well as a range of video formats, while the speakers are 10W versions. The lamp is a 370W version
The PG800W will cost €1,099 in Europe and the PG705WU is €849.
The PG800W is cheap and bright, but uses a lamp.
