ViewSonic Optimises 16:10 Monitors for Extended Use

Three new 16:10 displays have been added to ViewSonic’s monitor lineup. All three (24″ VG2438SM and VG2435SM and 22″ VG2235M) are designed for extended office and home use; they have a blue light filter and flicker-free backlight (we understand this to be based on DC dimming) and are adjustable. The stand enables a -5 deg to 37 deg tilt range; 360 deg swivel; 90 deg pivot; and 100mm height adjustment.

As well as the above, each monitor is Energy Star Certified and feature an Eco Mode, which can cut power consumption by up to 50%. Users can also access ViewSonic’s Viewmode settings: five different presets to optimise display settings, depending on the type of content being shown. The monitors have Game, Movie, Text, Web and Mono modes. Every model has a pair of 2W speakers.

Both 24″ models are identical, aside from inputs. The VG2438SM features DisplayPort, DVI-D, VGA and USB 3.0 (x4) connections, while the VG2435SM only has DVI-D and VGA. Both have 1920 x 1200 resolution and use an IPS panel with 178 deg viewing angles, a 5ms response time and a 1,000:1 contrast ratio. They can show 250 cd/m
