Vestel Installing Over 3,000 dvLED Displays at Istanbul Airport

Airport travellers are a captive audience and one of the biggest captive audiences for digital signage is about tto get a major upgrade. Vestel is upgrading 3,357 flight information screens at Istanbul aiport. The company will be using dvLED displays from its Prime Plus series.

The Vestel Prime Plus displays are UHD panels with options for 500 or 700 Nit brightness and support for HDR10 and 4K HDMI at 60Hz. They come in sizes ranging from 43″ to 65″, feature QLED and wide color gamut (WCG) technology. They also support OPS and SDM modules, external media players, and various installation orientations, including landscape, portrait, and tilted angles up to 30 degrees. The panels are touch-compatible (for 55″ and 65″ models) and include embedded content management software (CMS) with comprehensive control options via RS232, LAN, and SNMP.

Istanbul Airport is a major hub serving 76,236,980 passengers in 2023 alone. The digital signage infrastructure is designed to handle over 200 million passengers a year and uses Navori’s digital signage software management which was initially installed using Samsung displays as part of a large commitment to centralizing the control of all digital signage throughout the airport. It also uses Mediaport Marketing to manage advertising. No news on whether the new installations will change any of the existing software and services infrastructure.
